Yeah, what the fuck world. We get shitty games by the boatload, but can't muster up enough funds to finish one of the few that deserves to be finished?

 

Shenmue is pure art in game form, no question. But the sad fact is that the general gaming public didn't buy it. If a game doesn't make money, it won't be made. The best hope for Shenmue is for an independently wealthy and famous gamer to sponsor it himself, and pay for the development costs. Anybody know a movie star gamer who liked the Dreamcast?

Fred Durst of the band Limp Bizkit was a paid spokesman for the Seganet service. I don't believe that he's qualified to sponsor such a project.
