Meh, while it would be nice to see Shenmue III, Ryu Ga Gotoku has topped botch Shenmue I & II. I'd rather have a successor to that game (or both would be preferable, maybe with Nagoshi doing Shenmue III and applying his experience).
I can't play US games, so that's not too much help...especially with a name as fucked up and unthoughtful as "Yakuza".
"Yakuza" is pretty lame, but then again, so is the original name--"Ryu ga Gotoku" roughly equates to "Like a/the Dragon." Going by name alone, at least Yakuza tips you off to the sort of game it is. "Like a Dragon" makes me think of some lame Bruce Lee sim or something.
I like the Japanese one better... I don't think it's cheesy at all. In fact, I think it shows some type of thought. If it was "Ryu no Youni" then I'd probably agree w/ you. They should've called it Grand Theft Yakuza.
It's coming to Europe as well. 'Yakuza' isn't such a bad name, especially considering it's about, well, the Yakuza. Maybe they could have been a little more imaginative, but at least it's short and to the point. I'll be more worried about the game being hacked to pieces via poor/misleading translation or crappy American voice acting (Shenmue anyone?), but we'll see.
