(I know it totally off-topic but here I got anyway) Well I came home from university and right after that the neighbour came and asked if I missed our cat. I know it was outside so I said yeah. He said he found a dead cat by the street which probably got hit by a car. I was like F****CK, so I went over and looked at it and yes it was ours. So know I gotta tell my girlfriend her cat is dead. She's in England right now as an au-pair and has a bit of a hard time getting along there. And she loved that thing... I am so f*cked, cause I gotta tell her, she's staying for another 5 months. I cant just say it ran away, that would be weak... Damn and things were just going fine here (uni-wise) BTW: One ohter obscure thing happen, one of my clocks stopped working just today, what a fucked up day! Any thoughts of how to handle the situation? I was thinking of telling her on friday, so she has the weekend to get over it.
Just tell her as soon as possible. It's better that way. If you put it off then it looks worse. Be supportive and talk with her. That's all the advice I can give you.
well tuesday was the worst day of the year according to that psychologist who made the formula for that....
Damn that's rough. I agree with everyone so far, the sooner the better. Any delay will just make things exponentially worse.
I'm gonna have to go the other way. I've seen a lot of TV sitcoms and their wisdom has taught me that it's funnier to buy a replacement and watch the hilarious consequences. Sorry about your cat!
I'm not QUITE sure the situation will automatically default to THAT, but yes, in the interest of keeping any drama to a minimum, it's best to tell her immediately. However, I think the movie The Boondock Saints offers a sensitive way to break the news to a loved one about the death of their pet.
