When i was ringing up a coworker who was just getitng a psp, it only costed $242.39 with tax included, what im wondering is do you think i shoudl get it and take advantage fo the price? And sorry if this is in the wrong section since i dont know which would be the appropriate place to post.
I've heard that Sony has no plans in releasing a non-value pack in the States. If so, it'll be quite a bit of time i'd imagin before the price drops.
Though this probably isn't the place for this topic, I don't think anyone will care too much. As for the PSP, it's a really neat system, with some really neat games, but what's on there now isn't anything new. The games out now are mostly games we've seen before (but I'm not saying that they're not any good). I'd wait for more exclusive games.
I'll buy it when it's $150 or so. In the meantime, I'll likely pick up a DS. Lots of neat software announced at E3.
I dont care about the games on it, but it has a great screen and has a hell of a homebrew scene going on, i thought the DS would be killing the PSP on this, but not one one emulator running on the DS yet..
THe homebrew scene seems to be going pretty good right now for the PSP. Well if you got a 1.0 that is. The PSP has some interesting games out for it right now, but are they worth getting the system for is questionable, I think. I'd wait for a price drop or something.
On a fairly unrelated note, I had a horrifying dream last night that I purchased Nintendogs for $500 and then realized that I really didn't care.
Personally I won`t be getting PSP until it really drops in price or 2nd hand ones become available. As IMHO it is a pocket PS2 and I don`t use the 2 I have hardly ever and I don`t forsee enough games becoming available to warrant a new purchase......especially at GBP179 or there abouts.......will stick with the DS as some interesting titles on the horizon
do you reaaly need it? I don't get really excited about the games that are out now. If there is a game I really really want in the future I suppose I would buy a PSP, but that time hasn't arrived. Plus I am still waiting to see how the movie thing is going to work out (how many are really going to be available for the PSP?) I would like to see the price go down and eventually it will. However I think it will be quite some time before it hits the $150 USD mark.
If you have the money and wish to have it now, they yes: buy it. I personally love my PSP more then my DS right now for games such as Metal Gear Acid, Ape Escape, and Darkstalkers (Although Ridge Racer is a bit...meh in my opinion). However, if you don't have the money to spend, then I recomend you wait.
You've already made your decision, but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents into the hat... I got to goof around with Tachikoma's unit and Wipeout Pure before sending it off to him, and while it is a really neat system with some excellent capabilities, it just didn't really grab me at all. Maybe it was the whole, "Look, I'm an amazing media center and can do whatever you want!" issue - I like my game systems, especially handhelds, to do one thing and one thing well, and that's play games. I didn't much care for the fact that you leave nasty greasy fingerprints on that shiny black surface even if you've just washed your hands. Overall, I was just really nonplussed about it, and personally the only games that really interest me are Darkstalkers and the E3-announced Street Fighter Zero 3. Despite the current lack of games, I just find the DS far more interesting and am really looking forward to some of the titles announced at E3, but I just can't bring myself to get excited about the PSP.
yeah, they got some good releases in the summer, im excited theyre going to release another code here, though under the name trace memory
ummm no one mentioned lumines...this game makes the psp worth getting unfortunately it will steal your life...i can't stop playing it
