I'm a collector who would NEVER buy a game that's covered in crap or has a really doggy instruction book yet I DO play EVERYTHING I buy at least once. Collecting doesn't mean you can't play. Just take care of your games ! My copy of Space Channel 5 PT2 for Dreamcast has been on all month. Does it have a scratch ? nope still looks brand new. Just take care of your games everyone and enjoy playing them. Yakumo
Indeed, that's similar to what I was saying. I was just complaining about those who keep games sealed and unplayed. And I know you're not one of them. Believe me, sir, if I lived somewhere else, I'd have more of a choice to get used games that are not in such bad state. I envy you, sir.
one day mate you may be lucky. I hated buying used stuff in the UK. Discs would always be scratched or look as if someone had taken a crap on them. I honestly can't understand how dirty some instruction books were. Yakumo
If you opened a sealed game, take a big long whiff of the contents. Sealed games (and certain new books) have a wonderful smell to them, I think it might be the inks they use for printing.
Same case here. GamePlanet no longer carries used stuff (That's how I got most of my stuff in the 90s), so you have to go to flea markets or the black market, where the sellers have become assholes too, and they no longer take used anymore, or they try to scam you. So you get dirty used stuff from flea markets, from people who luckily don't know what they're selling. So there's a lucky chance of you getting atari/famiclone stuff in decent state, and other stuff is very rare but sometimes there are good things. Restoring consoles is a pretty good hobby, though. I just fucking hate those nintendo screws. PS2 and all, you can also buy used, but there's mostly piracy. So you can buy new/used from the black market, flea markets, or Gameplanet, but you're either going to have to pay through the nose or get stuff that's not precisely mint. But if you want to get anything before today's consoles, flea market it is. It's a fun place to go, though, and some stands make one hell of a breakfast. Good way to spend a sunday morning.
