this is going to be sort of a blog ish post so ignore it if you wish... Latley I've been playing Custom-Robo DS. The fighting engine is ported from the N64 Custom Robo games...and so are the models. It makes me miss those days. In the new Halo 3 map, foundry I recreated Facility from Goldeneye. The air vents! slight maze (same as goldeneye) The bathroom! The balcony going into bathroom And it makes me long for those days gone by in the N64 era. My store just got robbed without the guys in the store knowing it. In the survelance video the guy came in the back, was sneaking behind Eric for close to 20 minutes as Eric went down a check list throughout our store. Soon as he was about to turn, the robbed ducked around the corner, went to the front avoiding everyone else, got into the 2 registers with the most money, jimmied the lock (store was still closed) without anyone noticing. When I heard this I said it was Solid Snake... I'm really just missing the 32/64bit era. It's strange really, When I was in that time I thought of the 8bit generation as golden. And looked back on it fondly. Weird isn't it? I wouldn't doubt it if in a few years down the road I look back on some game that is forgotten and think about how awesome it was.
We always look back to the past as something great becos we have managed to forget the bad things that happened to us... Like now, it seems everybody wants the old SEGA back, but 5 years ago it seemed that nobody wanted them on the market ever again. This change is simply becos most gamers have already forgotten what a kick in the balls was to get a DC and get it canned less than 2 years later. The same with Nintendo: nobody seems to remember how bad was to get just one AAA game per year in the N64, lets no even talk about what a whorefest pokemon was... So, in short, not too long from now you'll be thinking about how cool was to play your PS3, and how bad it is that those days are gone:lol:
I have been in the same mode lately too man...and all this Goldeneye_goodness in your pics  Brings back many memories of daily 007 multi - License to Kill, Stack, Power Weapons and all the great Gameshark hacking...sonofabitch *sigh* I suppose that is another reason why I have been playing mostly shmups lately....In a way, they are dependant as well upon era, but the idea is the same....retro_esque themes and they give me that old skool feeling, even if it is a newer/current generation title.
Old games are why I'm not on Live as much anymore! Lately I got a bunch of Saturn, PS and Genesis games, and since I have a sucky HDTV and schools out for a bit, I've been using the nice CRT at my moms house, or at friends. We did a Battletoads run the other day.....and everyone but me died on the bikes of course. When I get home I'm going to give my Dreamcast a beating. I didn't mean to say that map you made was bad or anything when we were playing, btw. I was just like, "Man, it's facility.........but it's not 007. =(" I think 007 and PD are lost in time now. It did capture the spirit though, and that must have taken some work! What store got robbed?
Whats even better is when they try to revive it after years of fans wanting it back, only for it to fall flat on its face. Goldeneye: Rouge Agent, Contra 4, NiGHTS: Journey into Dreams, and Panzer Dragoon Orta are prime examples.
or make it a different game, metroid imagine a side-scrolling Wii metroid that u can aim with the Wii remote to shoot enemies , aiming it as a pointer for samus to fire at.
If that happened, everybody but you would be complaining about how is possible that nintendo decided to release a side-scroller in these days... If they can make it as good as Jak (althought with real-time targeting using the wiimote) it would be pretty cool nonetheless.
I always thought that was pretty cool how they just changed it from 2D to a 1rst person adventure game myself.
