I heard that the PS2 port of Panzer Dragoon was alright. It'd be nice to play around with it on PS3 and see what it would look like upscaled in HD too.
It's okay. The "updated" version still runs at the same framerate, so it's not all that awesome. Could've been way better, IMHO.
I think the PS2 Panzer Dragoon was exactly the same as the one as the version in Panzer Dragoon Orta. And yeah, the Fantasy Zone Complete Collection was just too damn good, the remake was OK too since it was the only one that stayed true to the originals, but the Complete Collection is out of this world.
Yeah it's the second one (not the first one). I actually already have the first one since they released a compilation of some of the early Ages titles in the usa. Neat, i'll think about it.
Busted it out last night. Pretty fun, although a short game. After about an hour of play (and studying the super play replay a bit) I got to the final stage (once). It's basically Outrun + Afterburner. You have a timer, but you can get pounded which will fuck you. Glad I have it... will try to get a 1CC. Afterall, a full run is less than 15 minutes, so fine by me.
You must be awesome at that game, I never got too far with only 1 credit. My problem is the damn timer
I actually got to Mission 5... there are 6 though, so not quite there yet. The super play on the disc enters mission 6 w/ about 1000 energy and finishes w/ like 200. So, looks like you need to go in w/ a minimum of 800. It's not that hard once you realize the name of the game is to not slow down, and kill as much stuff as possible. Definitely enjoying it... will get my 2000 yen worth out of it (finally).
Well small update. A happy note for me, and a great use of work's tools =P, I was told in the past Ps3 test units are region free for ps2 games and on friday I remembered to bring in a game and found out it is (tried A.C.E. 2) so I won't have to get a import ps2 atm (kind of want an import ps3 actually for ps2 out via hdmi). The six just happen to be in a single bundle that went for 600Yen and of the lot I mostly wanted 62 (puzzle bobble) but 39 & 26 are reasonable bonuses. small update... They are in. Now to wait till monday when I can play them on the test ps3 (it's region free for ps2 games). I brought 3 games home and I might try them on an emu but my pc is not powerful enough to run at 60fps (more 15-45 depending on the game). I have to say, the gfx on the Simple Ult 21 (see previous post for full name) don't look half bad, Looking forward to giving it a shot.
