Now I normally follow the mmonkey guide to doing the internal VGA mod on my Dreamcasts but I recently found there must be a more simply way (even though the mmonkey circuit board etc isnt exactly complex). link http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/sega/dc-vga.htm I have a cheaply made chinese SD card reader & VGA box thing I bought from ebay ages ago, (the plugs that go into the Dreamcast are some kind of old phone charger adapted to fit) I've never really given it a second look till last night when I opened up the little box as I was curious as to how they'd fitted everything into such a small area. (will post pics of it later so you can see how small it is). edit: heres a pic of the exact same thing I have. http://imageshack.us/a/img820/7325/vgasd.jpg Basically inside its abit of a mess but I can see acouple of resisitors soldered directly to VGA socket - can't see alot else without really taking it apart and moving the card reader slot (which kinda looks like I'll break it). Is there a more simply way (and space effective way) of doing the internal VGA mod as with the circuit board etc it can be a tight squeeze with others mods done (overclock internal SD card reader etc).
Use surface mounted components. I'm sure some of the parts can be had much smaller than their through hole counterparts.
