It has been released today on the Wii's Virtual Console in Japan and will be available for download from tomorrow in Europe as one of the Hanabi Festival releases. No information about other parts of the world so far. Found this information in the NTSC-UK forums. The original source is VC Reviews and Nintendo.
fuck me, i ve got a US console >< Anyone can post impressions of the PAL versions? (I m sure it's 60hz only )
well, considering Europe gets shafted usually , you still think it's unfair for "us" (although i don't own a PAL unit) to get something instead/first? Hah! we also got Doshin the Giant for the 'cube and YOU DIDN'T! =p (although i own the 64DD original as well as the PAL GC ^_^ )
Got myself the Classic Controller with 5000 Points and downloaded the game yesterday. It's the first time I'm playing this even though I have two copies for the N64 back in PAL land. So far I have only played the first two stages and after a very simple first stage now it just starts to be interesting in terms of requiring more jumping and strafing besides the shooting. Feels good and it gives the impression that it will get better. The Classic Controller sucks though. Will have to get a Gamcube one. In terms of emulation - even though I can't compare it with the original - the speed seems to be alright. Clean graphics and no slowdowns.
mrmonkeyman from shmups has some super play vids on his site if anyone wants to see them. Pretty sure they're running on original hardware.
you are absolutely right. I m really afraid what will happen when GC controllers are hard to find down the line. I m already thinking of investing in a set of wavebirds *just in case*.
Like GC controllers will be hard to find the next 25 years? I can't think of any console with hard to find controllers really...
yey! yey! now i ll need to find myself some Wii points! Anyone offering to do the scratch for me? I ll paypal the monies ^_^ Since I have an american Wii console, I will need a US Wii card for points.
You don't know how right you were in advance  Sin & Punishment is now on USA VC for a wopping 1200 points ($12). Man nintendo really loves to ass rape it's fans for wanting something. Sure it might be $2 more but again, remember when a few games started being $1 more? Don't be shocked if later they try for $5 more on some games. I mean already NeoGeo games are exspected to be a heafty $9 when XBLA version will be $5 with online play.
http://gonintendo.com/?p=26225 The press release. Note the mention of the new "import genre"! Seems we just might be getting some good games that never made it to this side of the border. Lol they also gave us SMB: Lost Levels. Where the heck is all stars !
All Stars on VC? You mean, something to save people money? Personally, I'm not expecting that till the others have all been released and available for a while. Then, Nintendo will ask everyone to bend over and fork out more money. =/
I don't intend to blindly defend Nintendo, but it's only natural that it would release all the Super Mario NES games separately so as to make more money. I mean.. it's only logical! :033::shrug:
I downloaded this! Finally. Even with the added price this game is definitely worth downloading. Not only is it a great game. But, everyone should download it just to tell nintendo. "Hey we want more import games!"
