Hey, I'm Skier. I've been a GT fan for over a decade but only actively began collecting GT games and merchandise in October 2012. I started with only a copy standard retail copies from the series, but I'm proud of how it has grown. I'm not throwing a whole lot of time and money at my collection, so it has grown (and will probably continue to grow) slowly. Anyway, I'll be posting links below to imgur albums when a new item comes in. Album of all of my game discs as of February 2nd, 2014: http://imgur.com/a/1hwfq UPDATE 2/11/14: Gran Turismo 4 Online Test Version (JP) and Making of Gran Turismo 4 DVD: http://imgur.com/a/OT9Yj (you can ignore the descriptions, those were for when I posted it to Reddit) UPDATE 2/17/14: Gran Turismo 4 Online Public Beta (US): http://imgur.com/a/OsVJU UPDATE 4/11/14: Gran Turismo Test Drive (bundled in JP demo pack): http://i.imgur.com/zr5ciqe.jpg UPDATE 5/25/14: Gran Turismo 3 Store Demo Volume 2 http://i.imgur.com/6yGLDNc.jpg UPDATE 6/20/14: Gran Turismo 4 Prologue Hologram Cover http://i.imgur.com/zqa6m03.jpg Hope you enjoy, and I look forward to wasting more money on this!
I was just thinking of asking if you had GT2000 and the manufacturer-specific GT4 Prologues just as I scrolled and saw them. Pretty nice collection, especially with 2000 and HD. Did 2000 ever come in a PS2 size box or just the square PS1 case? And what's Attack Gran Turismo?
Thanks. 2000 came in a sleeve rather than a jewel case, and though I've seen a couple photos of 2000 in a full-size box I think it's just a custom cover. Attack Gran Turismo is a DVD released in Japan that covers GT history and driving tips: http://www.ign.com/articles/2002/01/11/racing-fans-attack-gran-turismo I'm still missing quite a few manufacturer exclusive demos, but I'm happy to have gotten these few so far.
My newest addition, the GT4 Online Beta disc for the US. Compliments the Japanese version quite well. http://imgur.com/a/OsVJU
First notable buy in two months was a PlayStation Club demo from Japan featuring the Gran Turismo Test Drive disc. It came in a plastic wrap and I'm not sure if it's an original seal, so for now I've decided to leave it unopened. Pic: http://i.imgur.com/zr5ciqe.jpg Also got a second copy of the Gran Turismo 4 BMW 1-Series Beta, if anyone is in need.
Another small update, this time a Gran Turismo 3 Store Demo Volume 2 disc. http://i.imgur.com/6yGLDNc.jpg
Hi Skier, Congrats on acquiring the Store Demo Vol 2! I've got a copy too, though I'm still on the lookout for Volume 1.
Thanks, shipping from Japan was less than ideal but I've never seen it for sale on a Western site. Do you have any info on what content is on Volume 2? What is different from Volume 1? Are there more volumes of GT3 demos?
No idea what's on Volume 1 - I can only assume it might be a slightly earlier release. Here's some gameplay of Volume 2 I uploaded by the way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8frgjtj3nuo I don't think there are any more Store Demos of GT3, but there's also the NTSC Gran Turismo 3 demo, and the PAL GT3 demo (OPS2M Volume 5 Demo Disc). I don't have the NTSC demo, but here's some footage of the PAL demo too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_l4Pis5F8w
I saw the NTSC demo on eBay a while back but didn't get a chance to buy it unfortunately, hopefully I'll get a second chance someday. Any differences between Volume 2 and the release of GT3 you noticed? In the meantime I've been very lazy collecting-wise, but I do have a GT4 Prologue Hologram cover in the mail.
Small update, the limited GT4 Prologue Hologram cover that (to my knowledge) was available to Japanese pre-orders. http://i.imgur.com/zqa6m03.jpg
Awesome Collection! Was in Tsukuba for the Hypermeeting at Tsukuba Circuit this year , and had fun playing Granturismo at some of the vendor booths ... about 3 set-ups in total. sorry, not trying to Hijack! very jelly of all your games
Thanks for the compliments, I was at a race last month at Watkins Glen and there was a GT Academy booth similar to that set up.
Thanks, unfortunately nothing new. I took a bit of a breather from GT collecting over the summer and now that I'm at college I have even less time and money to dedicate to collecting. I haven't even looked at the GT stuff on eBay in months, let alone seeking out stuff on other sites.
