It's like The Sims landed in Skyrim. Not sure if i'm interested in it, just doesn't seem like it'll add that much to the game really, and what it will doesn't look like much fun. For 400MSPoints it isn't too expensive, but still when you're given the promise every DLC will be a large expansion and you get this, kinda disappointing. It just seems like a quick slip way for them to get out of their exclusivity deal with Microsoft more than anything else
This would have been cool a few weeks/month after release. Still nice for console users. You can easily find something like this on PC for free.
I meant mods created by tools released and sanctioned by Bethesda themselves. No need to jump to conclusions.
I know what you meant, it was just a joke :witless: Skyrim is also Steam Workshop now, meaning it's even easier to find stuff for it.
Should have released this for Oblivion. Trying to manipulate items to decorate a house In Skyrim just sucks the big one compared to Oblivion/Fallout. I hope they do something with this DLC to fix that otherwise I don't see a point to it.
To be fair, Mr. Howard did mention there would be some smaller ones. Also, I think this DLC is aimed more towards the people who like to really role-play their characters in Skyrim.
It still feels like a quick way for them to get out of the MS deal, right after everyone bitched about Dawnguard being exclusive for 30 days even though it was known well in advance that the first 2 paid DLC packs were going to be Xbox exclusive for 30 days. To be fair to Bethesda though the majority of that bitching came from PS3 owners instead of PC owners, and with the ongoing problems with the PS3 version and the possibility they might not get DLC at all it would be a little strange for them to feel a need to get out of the MS deal quicker. I'm not sure, maybe i just don't see enough content in this to feel like it's actually worth being a paid DLC instead of an update.
Just as a heads-up: Bethesda have said they are possibly not bringing Dawnguard to the PS3, because they're having problems with porting the code... :/ http://www.destructoid.com/skyrim-s-dawnguard-dlc-may-never-come-to-ps3-234098.phtml (EDIT: Once again, the perils of visiting the forum too late in the day, means that Skyrim and Dawnguard get transliterated into Stormguard! :O Corrected.)
Dawnguard :friendly_wink: Pretty much everything written by Jim Sterling on Destructoid just irritates me, this comment on that article grinds me a bit. Skyrim works on PS3, they released Skyrim on PS3, Dawnguard isn't working on PS3, they aren't releasing Dawnguard on PS3. They're doing exactly what he thinks is the right practice and he still bitches. The mans an ass!
I can't really disagree with what he said, considering how many problems there have been with Skyrim PS3. The only way you can say there haven't been problems is by saying that a game either "works" or "doesn't work" with nothing in between, so Big Rigs "works" on PC, Skyrim "doesn't work" on Colecovision.
Sadly, I have to agree with you: whilst sometimes he writes a decent article, most of the time he lets his 'persona' get in the way and as such his articles start to read like they're written by a crazy fanboy rather than a professional journalist (I know that's the intention he's going for, but it's just not that funny after the 50th article). Anyway, if you wish to avoid Jim Sterling's perpetual ranting, here's the update from Bethesda proper: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1407614-update-on-ps3-dlc/page__pid__21469935#entry21469935
