Well, I bought ToZ: Skyward Sword on release; I even had preordered the limited edition version with the bundled motion plus wii remote. So far, I'm enjoying this game, but I can see how it can end up becoming repetitive. I don't regret purchasing this game, as I've bought every Zelda game over the years, and I'm a huge fan of the series. Heck, my original reason for purchasing the Wii was in anticipation of this game coming out; but I've since found that there are several great titles for this system. Me being the overprotective OCD guy that I am when it comes to my game discs, the first thing I did was rip the game to my USB HDD for slightly faster loading times and to preserve the quality of the disc. The controller is beautiful in my opinion though, and is my first motion plus controller, haha. This is the only game that's warranted enough reason to get one. The bundle was 70 dollars, game is usually 50, so I guess you could say I got the controller for 20, which is what the price of an expansion unit would have been. Note: Just because my system is obviously modified to load games from a USB HDD and homebrew use, it doesn't mean I support piracy of titles on this system. It may be targeted to a different demographic of gamers (the casuals) but it does have some serious titles that "true" gamers can enjoy. I highly recommend this latest game to the Zelda series. Let's use this thread for discussion and opinions of this game, and list how you obtained your copy. Whether it be pre-order, buying it after it came out, regular edition, etc.
I beat the game last week at around 40 hours of play time. Awesome game! Great story, love the ending music. Now I'm halfway through the second run called the "hero mode." Tough stuff.
beat it some weeks ago. completely loved everything about it. maybe would have liked to see more diverse environments outside of the main three.. not a huge complaint. what i find most hilarious is how too many complain how the controls are broken, when in fact it's only because they don't know how to play. pretty ironic for a "kiddy system"..
Not necessarily a storyline spoiler, but still diminishing the value. It's akin to telling someone who's about to watch a movie that there's a big twist at the end. Also, he could have just said that he was on his second playthrough, no need to mention the actual mechanics of the unlocked mode.
I'm 16 hours into the game and been enjoying it very much. The controls are not perfect, but they work for most part. Bought the Limited Edition
