I am insterested in this game called : Sleeping Dogs on Playstation 3. The game looks very interesting , it'll be the first time i play with only asians characters ! Is anyone else is instered in this game that comes out August 17th 2012 ?
Never heard of this until now, looks like it could be pretty good! It's got a lot of big talk though, if it delivers then great, but so many games lately are all talk. If the reviews turn out to be any good i'll probably look into this. By the way you might want to change the thread title, this isn't a PS3 exclusive, it's coming out on Xbox 360 and PC too.
I think this game needs more Asian voice actors all round, call me crazy but if you're going to set a game in a specific place using the language of that place really helps cement it, the Yakuza series got that right. Watching one of the demos the American style street talk and music playing on the radio felt really out of place.
The trailer looks to be about 90& FMV and 10% gameplay. What gameplay they do show does look good, but initial impressions suggest a keen attempt to create an Asian GTA franchise. The problem is that it's the sense of humour that bring me back to GTA - a hard, gritty variant isn't what I'm looking for, besides haven't they already tried that with Saints Row? It'll be interesting to see how it pans out - hopefully it won't play like a brick.
Did you seriously call Saints Row hard and gritty? Anyway, Sleeping Dogs was originally going to be part of the crappy True Crime series, but it's not developed by the people who made those, so it might actually be good.
The first Saints Row was, it had a dash of comedy but it wasn't it's strongest point at the time. For the second it was a mix, and then for the third game they really ramped up the comedic aspect to make it stand apart from other GTA clones. Also this games wasn't originally developed as a True Crime game, the developers have said this in interviews, Activision just decided it would fit in that series and help the game sell after development had begun so they added it in, only to cancel it later and then it got picked up by Square Enix.
True, the first game was more gritty, even though it did have the pimp cane shotgun and insurance fraud. To be honest, I never got too far in the first game since it wasn't that great in my opinion, the second and third games are much better.

Amazon shipped mine today. I'm gonna play on saturday night. I hope I don't regret buying this game instead of Darksiders 2.
