With LeGIt having a DC dev kit and all that, we (on the Assembler IRC channel) made a few "custom" PVR files, which when loaded on the DC change the image of the CD in the CD player. Theres a lotta pictures, so 56k-ers, you have been warned! Here are some of the results: [/img]
wow cool! rayer: j00 s1 t3h 31337 h4xx0r!111 How did you do this? I thought you didnt know how to do the conversion.
screwing with the alpha was doing my head in so i comissioned tach and eggplant to screw with some pics then after running the pics through the pvr tool and renaming em to 0gdtex.pvr , i slapped em on a gd project and fired up the GD-M and voila! Ive been screwing with the mem card utility and if i had a serial cable(RS-232) for dev box to pc i will be able to backup ,or upload saves to a normal dc vm without having to buy a nexus or anything @FunkstarDeLuxe - have you booted the mem card utility GD-R yet? If the executable was an .elf it may not be possible however if you get a coders cable and set up a hyperterminal on your pc (contact me for settings) and you manage to boot the GD-R you will also be able to do it too
Its ok i took plenty of pics of both utilities running on the dev box for my site earlier some of the memorycard utilities work without the serial + hyperterminal though like format (you can choose the rgba in hexadecimal for custom colours not in the std options on dc) and even funnier - you can DEFRAG THE VM LMAO! The only feautres I find need the serial cable though are the upload and download of saves which is a bit of a bummer a si need to track down the approapriate serial cable. Also ill have to work out how to change from the .elf debug executable to a .bin executable then il lbe able to use it on the GD-M wihtout having to fire up codescape @Funkstar - have you tried any custom colours yet? I did some experiments earlier Ill try get the pics online somehow
Cool. Now going a litte OFF TOPIC: Is possible to make a AUDIO CD-R with a PVR file that shows when you play the Audio in DC? I mean, Burn one CD-R witn one DATA track with the PVR file, and the consecutive Audio tracks. Or the DC will only read the PVR from a GD-DISC? And other question: Why some games (like sonic adventure) don't show the PVR in the Auido player screen?
It may be possible to slap 0gtex.pvr onto an audio cd - and it's not compulsory to have the image for the audio player on games it was optional
