Does anyone own one? Interested to see what they look like. I remember Kev mentioning it in the slim thread.
It's listed in the product available to developers, and a pal at XXXXX says he got them in with unsolicited natal units. They decided to NOT support natal btw...
So do these replace the units that were shown at GDC? Or will those continue to be used and just have the software targeted at slim? (considering it wouldn't make a difference)
@Eazy the XNA's? I'd imagine they'd keep the XNA's for the sidecars (since the sidecars are what contain the extra 512mb of memory), or think of something special for the new Slim dev units. The hard drive is no longer in its enclosure/exposed to us, so it'd be sort of hard to put something like a sidecar in the new hard drive slot - and it would look pretty ugly. @OP Yeah, they're out. Joystiq has 'em if I remember correctly. Either they have them, or they were in some sort of press area taking pics. Probably the latter, but the only place I saw the picture was on Joystiq.
Why would Joystiq have a slim dev.. I'm sure they just took pics. And yes, they are out there Also kevin what do you mean they decided to NOT support Natal?
Yeah, press area from the looks of the background (didn't pay attention to that detail): http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/img2906-1276830514.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/img2907-1276830608.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/img29082.jpg
Hmm... So I guess the slim units will be like the new demo kits? And then behind the scenes for development they will continue to use the so called XNA units? Or are the XNA units just canceled?
I know, I know. I really wish there was more lighting in those pics for us to see the back of the unit better. @Eazy you little loafter you
Yes it looks the same as the retail. Aside from the XNA kits, there is no real need for the sidecar anymore. A "devkit" motherboard doesn't need a sidecar. I still think the XNA kit is the hottest looking piece of 360 kit out there. -hl718
yes there was but if u look at the time this thread was about it was before much was know about the slim
