Since you don't often hear about it in the west... What games is the Japanese dialogue typo-ridden, awkward, or otherwise flawed (ugly font, too small to read, etc)? If intentional satire that's OK too.
Are you saying the Japanese dialogue is worse than the translation? That's part of what I'm after here.
I think it's Final Fantasy VI, right? I think the game was rather bland, and the little girl cursed like a sailor for no good reason but to be edgy. Fred Woosley made that game pretty interesting. If they released V here, I wonder how it would be remembered, because it is often ignored. A good localizer knows how to make its game interesting to the audience they are trying to reach, while maintaining the spirit of the original.
