I am sure this guy is a member here, but despite the claims of the article the collection is far from complete (even if you ignore every pong based console), I gave up counting what was missing when I got up to 25 consoles... http://www.reghardware.com/2011/07/21/sergiokillo_big_collection_of_videogame_consoles/
The old handhelds and tabletops and mini-arcades look really sweet. I don't recognise what he has between the Pippin and the Playdia, though.
A Casio Loopy. It's a nice collection, but as everyone with only slight understanding could point out, far from complete. I don't like it if collectors who accumulated lots of loose consoles suddenly stand up and claim to have a *COMPLETE CONSOLE COLLECTION*, often in the form of a news/magazine article. None of the really 'big' collectors do that, not even kaori.
X-ARCADE STICK? CHECK! CRAP ART THAT IS IRRELEVANT? CHECK! POWER AND RESET BUTTONS WITH A DIFFERENT SURROUNDING THAN THE CAB? CHECK! Somebody mail it in!
Hahah, I didn't notice his MAME cab until now. Lovely how there's pretty much any popculturally significant character from the 90's on it. The best part is of course the Painkiller-sticker. A 2004 first-person PC-shooter is always best played on a MAME cabinet.
Didn't notice that at first but it is a PC based system! I'd hate playing it with a stick and four buttons though.
I don't think it's realistically even possibly to own a "complete" console collection, due to the number of clones and such. That said, it's a pretty nice collection. MAME cabs are pointless, anyway. I'd much rather have a real arcade cab.
It is still possible to collect one of every major console that used optical media or Cartridges in such a way you have machines to run every game on that console and therefore have a complete, rather then a anally complete collection. You do not need to collect every version of the one console, for example in the PC Engine family, you could get away with just have a NEC / Pioneer Laseractive and PC Engine pak, Turbo Grafx pak, Arcade Duo card, System Card V1.0 (just for Altered Beast CD) and a Supergrafx and you have three machines that will play the entire PC Engine / Turbo Grafx library of HuCard, TG16 Cards, CD-ROM2, Super CD-ROM, Arcade CD, Supergrafx and LD-ROM2 games, you could have a GT too for portable gaming. Add the Sega Megadrive and Sega Genesis pak and you can run all the Megadrive, Genesis, Sega CD, Mega CD and Mega LD games, add a PAL Sega CDX and you can run all the PAL ones too. Having every PC Engine / Core Grafx, Shuttle and Duo series starts to look like you have OCD. Ditto having multiple consoles, why have 8 different Playstation 2s just because they are different colours when 1 will do the job. You can also question what a console is, the Tomy Kiss, Casio Loopy, Sega Pico and Vtech V-Smile are all technically consoles but you are not going to whip one out to impress a collector. A number of early consoles did use the same chipset, so again as long as you have a console that can play a game, you do not need to collect other makers consoles (for example the Acetronic / Prinztronic / Radofin consoles). There are only a small number of pong consoles you need to collect to have a one of each chip, too many pong consoles use the same AY-3-8500, so you do not need a Sears Super Pong if you already have a Binatone TV Game Master. Ditto the Nintendo TV-Game 6 is the same console as the TV-Game 15, the only difference is the switches and wiring... Although it is still not easy as things like the Rdi Haylcon, MSX VHD interface and the Koei PasoGo consoles would still be tricky to find.
That sounds like quite an understatement. Isn't there only about one confirmed working RDI Halcyon out there plus a few LD players with RDI "faceplates"?
Oh dear. While I wish I had a dedicated arcade cabinet, maybe a sit-down one, his cabinet is... well, quite abominable. Ugly as fuck might be the technical term.
Nice collection, but he's still missing A LOT of consoles here Even common ones like a MK1 SegaCD, FZ-1, JagCD, pocketstation, Nomad, etc... OMGWTFBBQ NO 32X??! THAT'S THE PT CRUISER OF CONSOLES: IT'S EVERYWHERE AND IT ISNT WORTH JACK SHIT! Anyways, thats one chintzy MAME cabinet...
Reconsider that, It isn't worth Jack shit but it costs a bomb here http://video-games.shop.ebay.co.uk/...kw=32x&_catref=1&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282 Heres the eBay search for ''32x''
Seems like an inexpensive lot if you're US based. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sega-Gene...Video_Games&hash=item2eb6d321f3#ht_1254wt_929
