Smart TV recording question

hi members , i recently got a Sony 900E TV and there's a option to Record TV to a USB Hard Drive. I was wondering if i could set it to record and then turn the TV off and sleep , and when i wake magically my program has been recorded.

can it do that ?

 

I guess you could download the manual and check if that functionality is available, if it doesn't mention it then it won't do it.

thanks guys for the manual and info , i thought it was common knowledge about Smart TV's and their recording capabilities but i'm going to have to read up.

 

I own a samsung 7000 series smart tv, i can set something to record something and put the tv on standby.

I would try it with something that starts in 5 mins then put the tv into stand by n do something else. then in an hour or so go back to the tv.
