Here's a user manual for the SNASM2 32X Development System (Version 2.01). Figured I'd upload and share it since I needed to scan it all in for myself. Enjoy! :smile-new: Download Link 1 Download Link 2 Edit: Bonus Cross Products Registration Card, Link 2.
Holy crap, that's big!! Must have taken some doing. I can't help but think it would be possible to compress it a bit more, though - considering there aren't any circuit diagrams or high resolution pictures in it. What settings did you use to scan and what settings for the PDF? Thanks for the share - I'm sure it'll be useful.
Perhaps overkill, 300dpi, greyscale, low compression. I'll probably end up doing a text-version which wound up being less than 10mb. Figured I'd just get the biggie out there for people to have a poke around at. Plenty more things to come as well, some Code Monkeys and Accolade notes and such. Fun times! Most is scanned, just need to sort it out. Turns out there were two copies of this user manual in amongst the gear I picked up recently! It's all pretty easy to do here with the work scanner, has more feeds than I'd have ever imagined.
The Mega stuff is because of the parallel connections, enter 'my account' and set the number of parallel uploads to some less than maximum, i use 3 and all uploads gets completed. With 6 most of big uploads (if not 100%) fail.
It's all good! Nice to have the high res, but yeah, that does sound like a bit of overkill. I'd always scan at 300dpi (but that's just me, photographer's mentality - but better to have too good a version than not good enough!), then set the compression accordingly in Acrobat. Resizing in-between would probably screw things up if someone decided they wanted to print these A4. As it looks like you didn't use any security in Acrobat, I'll have a look sometime and see if I can get the file size down a bit. Thanks again for the share - looking forward to seeing what else is amongst the documents!
Done! I think the session must have timed out or something because it worked this time, link added successfully! The rest has been uploaded under this section here. There's a fair bit of misc, one document I noticed I already had (SNASM-CD Installation Manual v1.0) archived away. I need to start collecting these documents I suppose and get them on some sort of FTP or torrent. I think FTP might be best for me, a torrent never hurts to have though. Kudos to you as well Assembler! Hope everyone has a peek through the other bits and pieces I uploaded, if anyone can work out what some of the incomplete documents are from or if there are already full versions distributed, I would be most thankful for you to leave a comment :tranquillity:
It's all good - a nice bunch of info there! One day, I might get around to putting up a website with dev info - it's scattered all over the net and really needs one central hub! Oh wait, isn't that what the ASSEMbler wiki is for?
I keep seeing that thread and hoping it will come to life. It would be a great place for things like this to live on forever! :encouragement: I was actually surprised to find we didn't have a wiki of sorts on here already. But was pleased to know we had one before my time, and then sad to see it gone already. But glad to see it coming around again!
We used to have a) a 'museum' and b) a wiki. The museum got taken off when we changed to a proper forum (although it remained on the old host for some time) and never put back, and the wiki got taken down due to vandalism. Hopefully, the two will merge into one uber project! EDIT: Damn you for your edit up there - nearly missed that! Nice little piece to see, although not much use now! Can you imagine the specs that would have been written on those cards? haha
That's the best thing about YouTube and Google Images / Picasa. Upload everything there and it will probably stay there until Google folds, my guess is that's a while off yet. That's the thing about Wikis, they can be a pain to maintain. I like the idea of having a select group of people being able to edit it though, not having it open to the world. I feel like I've missed out now on this museum. Hopefully some of it will be resurrected in the wiki? :tranquillity:
