Hi all, wondering if anyone can help me?

I received a PAL Snes today. Everything works fine but seller decided to throw in a Japanese cart too. So i've modded the snes by lifting pin 4 of the lockout chip and both the UK & Japanese games now load fine.

I've now decided to go one step further and add a 50/60hz switch.

Following these instructions i lifted pin 24 of PPU1 and pin 30 of PPU 2. I then joined the two lifted pins together and soldered them to the middle pin of a switch. I then took 5v (with 2.2k resistor) and ground from the voltage regulator at the back of the console and wired those to the other sides of the switch. Booted up a game and tested the switch and all seemed to work fine. Then there was a flash on the screen followed by darkness and a dim led. Powered off the Snes and back on again and game loads but its now stuck in 60hz. Switch no longer functions. Tried wiring the PPU directly to 5v and ground and neither seems to change the display output. Also tried soldering pins 24 and 30 back to their original places to restore the factory default of 50hz but machine still starts in 60hz. Any ideas on how i can restore switch functionality?

    Thanks

Hi guys, sorry i popped this in a box and forgot about it. Today i took another look. I decided since manual switching wasn't working i'd try and burn a super CIC from ikari_01's code. Hex burned to a 16F630 pic and installed by removing the original cic from the board and wiring directly to the contacts and then using a 10k resistor from Pin 8 to ground. Again the console starts up but doesn't switch and the reset button doesn't function at all.

Is there a problem with the motherboard and i should look for a replacement console or is there anything i can try to restore the switching and reset?

    Thanks
