I was curious if anyone sells, or knows how to make cartridge labels. I have a few games that are in desperate need of repair.
pull a dipswitch from an old pc motherboard and powerglue it in a gold spraypainted snes cart, then print a label and glue a label on it..! instant ebay moron CA$$$$H...!
It really isn't that hard to print your own labels if you have the paper and the printer. I had to re do a few genesis ones and overall they look pretty good minus the glossiness.
Oh ha ha.... I can see where the problem is with this sort of thing, but I feel it's sort of a waste to come across a working game that's been run through the grinder. It's just like restoring old cars, you can either have an original part or a reproduction. The repro will never look like the original but it sure makes the owner happy. I just want labels on a few of my yard sale finds, not packing tape and a sharpie. Also if my pockets were deep enough I guess I would just throw them in a box to be forgotten and buy new ones but I really cant bring myself to do that, I want to fix them.
Just get a good printer, design an image on your PC of the size of the label space. Print it out of "sticker paper". Cut the sticker out and apply it. If you want you may want to first put some kind of protection on it before cutting it out like some kind of UV protective tape or something. It's not hard to do at all, the hardest part is cleaning the cartridge of all the old label and adhesive that is stuck to the plastic. You may need to use soap, rubbing alcohol, or vegatable or something like that to get all the old adhesive off. Obviously you'll have to remove the PCB from the cartridge.
There are a lot of cutters that will cut the 1/8 inch corner. Many cheap scrapbooking cutters will cut an ok, or check out your local print shop if you're a perfectionist.
