    Hi All,

I'm looking for a decent solution for long term storage of SNES cartridges. My collection is large but my house is not, so if they aren't in use, my games live in storage bins. For my NES games I use these and they fit perfectly.

I've heard that cassette tape storage containers will work for Genesis and N64 though I've not tried it yet. What I haven't found is a good storage solution for SNES games. Have any of you found anything that works well, and is not original Nintendo storage (because those are absurdly expensive now)? Thanks!

I wasn't able to find anything that could fit American SNES, so I just built some shelves out of wine boxes I found on the side of the road.

That's inventive, for sure. Unfortunately due to space constraints, shelving won't work for me. I really need some kind of stackable storage bin with a lid, something like the one I linked. I'm not sure I'll be able to find a viable solution.

Laminated Wood flooring makes great space saving lightweight thin shelving material. I used a finish nailer for a quick and clean fit. Shelves are held together with ¾" slats. Each shelf layer is also independent of each other, makes for easy swapping around or moves if need be. More shelves can also be easily added as the library grows.

That's a good idea. I need a container though. Shelving won't work for me. Not enough room.

the ikea samla product line has always worked great for me and videogame storage and is realy cheap and good looking you can close it and store it and stack them and they come in all sizes and shapes.

    http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40102978/

the link is only to the tub/box itself you can buy a lit or inlays apart and they have them in black and white (translucent)

    hope this helps?

That may do nicely for some of my smaller collections. I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

Ikea's great for storage stuff, but I hate containers with slanted walls. Might be okay for loose controllers and such, but not for carts, boxed stuff and anything else with right angles. I usually go with "Pappis" or sometimes <bigger cardboard box I can't find the name of right now>. They're plain brown and ugly though, i.e. not a great fit for the living room - but my basement and storage room are full of them. A perfect match for Ivar shelves, three boxes per board, with just enough room on the sides to comfortably pull out a box, and ~1-2cm space on top.

I also dislike slanted walls, but the Papua appears to be cardboard, and I just can't deal with that. This is long term storage, so I need stackable plastic with lids. I ordered a few things from ikea, I'll let you know what works best
