Yes, you'll need to get a new(ish) Honey Bee SNES adapter that has 2 cartridge ports. PAL games have a different CIC (security chip) than NTSC games. Thus, you'll need to either replace the soldered chip in Pitfall with one from a NTSC game or get a converter, plug Pitfall on the top, and a "boot" cartridge on the back.

PAL game goes in the Front, your boot game goes on the back :smt023

Not sure if this has anything to do with it.....but don't certain games also cehck which display frequency the SNES is set for? I know a bunch of my games tell me I've got the wrong version console to play the imports....except teh lockout chip is disabled so I've always assumed this was whats wrong ^_^ Unless I am jsut crazy ¬_¬

It won't work with newer games with more complicated boards, but it should work with at least all games up until 1994. I've never actually used that kind of converter so i'm glad it worked :)

And yes, Thedeathcoaster, some games can calculate whether or not they're being played on the correct video region, the only game I can think of that can do this is Super Street Fighter 2. If you start a game up with the wrong security chip, the game will not start at all.

Super Metroid also has that lockout, when you boot up you'll get an error message "This game isn't designed for your Super Nintendo or Super Famicom"

Any idea how to get non 7E/7F codes to work (ROM patch cheats ala Game Genie)? There's some non 7E/7F codes in the manual (for games I don't have) so it does appear to support them. I tried getting some codes from the net to work but no luck... :smt017

I've never heard of this Game Wizard. Sounds like a PAR with an extra slot for CIC bypass?

It was sold in the UK and elsewhere as the X-Terminator. They're not too common.

To answer my own question above, I tried having another look at it and it seems it doesn't support HiROM ROM cheats...
