    Yeah - they're completely different boxes! ;-)

For a start, they have that unlimited warranty on the front. Systems like Mario's 5 Game Value Pack (not the UK 5-in-1), Grand Prix Pack (Mario Kart), Super International Cricket Kit, Ultimate Sports Pack (cricket & tennis Target exclusive - rebranded cricket kit), Super Fun Pack (Super Game Boy), Killer Instinct Action Pack (good luck getting that cheap!), DKC Crate etc.

Damn!!! Even if I saw any I'd have to have some decent money behinds haha, i think I'll have to bide my time on this one and just want until I find the right one! And then collect games until then lol, even a street fighter console pack would be awesome lol

    Good to know! :)

The Australian console prices are going to be entirely based on what they go for there - you'd never see them here. Perhaps in the past some keen collectors might have brought some over, but it would be ridiculous now. They'd probably sell for well over £100, but you guys would sell them for far more, then you'd have to add shipping and customs charges. It'd be crazy!

Talking of crazy, someone wanted $1,900 for the Mario Kart set on eBay!! And one actually sold for over $1,600! Conversely, a Nigel Mansell set repeatedly failed to sell for $250.

I'm seeing a lot of games on there, by the way. Clayfighters sold for $20 buy it now, boxed.

I've been following the australian market of console exclusives for a while (I collect european and australian PAL bundles, box variants, etc...). I don't believe the Mario Kart SNES pack really sold for 1600AUD, as the second unit was listed by the same seller, with the very same pictures and he hasn't received any feeback from the first unit's sale. If I had to bet, I'd say the seller put up a shill bid to secure the price and ended up being the highest bidder. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Mario Kart pack with a box in better condition reach a price like that in a true auction though.

It did seem extremely over the top... although they don't turn up too often.

Have you made a post to show off your collection in member game collections? Sounds interesting - I'd love to see that!

Uhhh yes we do, if the items + packaging and postage costs exceed $1000, you will get a customs charge.

I found that out the hard way.

Stonay - search completed listings on eBay, you'll find the DK games sell between $50-$70ea on average, in a lot of three a common price of $150 occurs quite often.

Out of the UK - yes the games are cheaper, but there are people here who specifically look for AUS written on the boxes/manuals/cartridges - they think its worth more. It's only worth more to the muppets willing to pay it. I've been buying my games out of the UK for years. PAL is PAL in my book, I collect to play - not to sit there with a wank factor over the items saying AUS on them.

The only exception I find is N64 games - I hate the UK black edges...

I send bulk boxes through a mate out of the UK to Perth (WA) every few months with tonnes of goodies. Better prices + better quality + less muppets to deal with, will continue to do so in future really.

Twas shill bidding, second one went for $715 if I recall correctly and that was shill bidding too because within a day it was relisted at a BIN of $730.

    Stupid sellers.

If you're genuinely interested and you're not going to waste my friend's time, I can pass on his facebook (which he does his dealings through - under his real name, no fake accounts) - I've spent in excess of $5k with him, prices have always been fair and reasonable, shipping has always been a breeze. :)

He even holds stuff for me until the box is full enough to send in one go. Have gotten many a rare item from him which has always worked out better than looking locally in Australia... I have a heap of spare items at home that I keep on my shelf for potential trades - depends what you're looking for really.

Shoot us a PM anyway if of interest. I actually need to update pictures of my collection on here too...

Hahaha yeah just the 3 :p

I think I've had about 8 boxes shipped out in total from the UK so far, large boxes (approx 60GBP per box to courier across using ParcelMonkey). It's been worthwhile so far! Ranges from fully boxed consoles to empty boxes with foams/internals to games and exclusive items - across all Nintendo, PlayStation, XBox and Sega items.

I'll have to chuck up some pictures of how the collection has grown over the last year whilst I was finishing my studies - my stress relief was spending all my money on buying retro items! He has also doubled up as a receiver for items I buy in the UK - ship it to him, he puts it with all the stuff I buy from him, and happy days. Its always nice to find genuine people! :)
