The rom in question is zelda parallel worlds: 1.5 mega + 8k sram. the donor is lorom and has 74ls139. how do i rewire the 74ls139? normally is connected like this: 1 - snes 49 2 - A20 3 - A21 4 - rom OE 5,6 - nc 7 connected with pin 15 8 - gnd 9 - sram ce 10,11,12 - nc 13 - reset 14 - A19 16 -vcc
Should be like that, it's the same wiring than Super Mario World. __ __ SNES #49 |01\/16| +5VA21 |02 15| NCA20 |03 14| A19 ROM /OE |04 13| RESET NC |05 12| NC NC |06 11| NC NC |07 10| NC GND |08 09| RAM /CE------
I tried that. It doesn't work on zelda parallel worlds, neither on dragon quest 5. After some search, some mario all stars and final fantasy mystic quest have one rom (16mbit), sram and 74ls139. Here's the pic: http://www.snescentral.com/pcb.php?id=0044&num=1&side=front It also uses A22(from the photo it seems connected only to rom) and snes pin 40. So maybe someone has this pcb and can check it out...
Try this. I dug these out of my old notes. Hopefully they are still correct. 1. SNES #49 2. A15 3. RESET 4. NC 5. NC 6. Pin #15 7. Rom /OE 8. GND 9. SRAM /CE 10. NC 11. NC 12. NC 13. BA5 (SNES #46) 14. BA4 (SNES #45) 15. Pin #6 16. VCC
I wired some 16 bit lorom but without a LS139 (PAL repros of MetalWarrior) and I didn't use A22 nor A21. Since it's a lorom, A20 is wired to snes pin 46 (and A21 should be snes pin 47, A22 snes pin 48) 29F016 doesn't use A21 (it's a NC), and if you are using the classic TSOP40 to DIP36 adapter III, you'll notice that pin A22 isn't wired to anything. So I don't think you should bother about those. Now on my 1A3B/2A3B the LS138 is wire like that: LS138 pin 2 --> snes 46 LS138 pin 3 --> snes 47 have you try to wire the A20 to snes pin 46?
Yes, I know the rom doesn't use A21 and A22. A20 is already connected to pin 46 (the donor is also lorom). A while ago i tryed to make dragon quest 5 (lorom) with 74ls139 and didn;t work. i was lucky to have a spare mad-1 from a really damaged pcb and it worked. PS: Metal Warriors doesn;t have ram so you don;t need a decoder.
thanx to xIceMan from famicomworld, here's the solution: Pin 01 = SNES /OE (Leave it connected) Pin 02 = SNES Connector 40 Pin 03 = SNES Connector 40 Pin 04 = Pin 15 of 74LS139 Pin 05 = NC Pin 06 = NC Pin 07 = ROM /OE Pin 08 = GND (Leave it connected) Pin 09 = RAM /CE (Leave it connected) Pin 10 = NC Pin 11 = NC Pin 12 = NC Pin 13 = A21 Pin 14 = A20 Pin 15 = Pin 04 vom 74LS139 Pin 16 = 5V (Leave it connected)
Sorry for bumping an ancient thread, but I was wondering if anyone knew how you would wire the 74LS139 if using two 27C801's instead of the tsop? I'm trying to make a Zelda Parallel worlds with a board with 2 mask roms, 64k sram, a 74LS139 but no Mad-1. Is it possible? All help much apreciated.
