I'm looking for a cartridge adapter for my Super Famicom, and I'm wondering about any other alternatives including this thing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Super-Ninte...407163?hash=item58810fa0fb:g:2L4AAOxy3yNThUma

I'm not interested in the save state function of it, but the pass through function. Can I use this thing without powering it, thus using this thing as a pass-thru adapter. If I do power it, I'll have to buy Console5's SNES to standard 5.5mmx2.1mm adapter and use it with a center negative adapter that has a higher current.

Stone age Gamer should have a SNES TO Famicom adapter.
If not something to use as a pass through shouldn't be too hard to find.

Look for "import adapters" aimed at the European markets, to allow playing US carts on PAL SNESes - they have the same slot as a SFC.

Make sure it's got the wider connector to support SuperFX etc.

I think you have to power that thing, and if I'm not mistaken it uses the SNES (or SFC I suppose) power supply then has a dongle that plugs into the console. I don't think it'll work without being powered up.

Eh. I just bought a $25 passthru on eBay. Sure I have a SNES, but I also have a SFC. Maybe later I'll pick up that $15 thing later.

Cheapest? A Game Genie, probably $5 USD or so, and remove the plastic shell.

Being a Game Genie won't fit a JP SFC if you didn't want to take the shell off you could always use an Action Replay or Pro Action Replay. As a combo unit you could grab a Super UFO and have a combination flash cartridge, cart dumper, and converter.

Anything that passes through all signals will theoretically run all NTSC games. SNES has a shared region code between North America, South America, Japan and Korea. No need what so ever to bypass its lockout chip.

I wonder if there's a 3D print template for the top plate of a Super Famicom, rather than grinding the edges.
