Hi, I have run into a problem recently where I require my snes to play mario 2 lost worlds for an audience however upon plugging in my snes (PAL snes) I have come to the conclusion that the multi out is broken. I have tried multiple cables to no avail so I decided to take my console apart to see if I can find the source of my problem. As much as I look I can't seem to find any issues besides maybe 1 thing. the chip at u10 has some what i can only tell dried out solders but i am not sure if this is the cause of the issue. what is the u10 chip? if this is not the multiout problem then does anyone else know what the cause could be? thank you for your time

So to Clear a few things off.
You connect the SNES and you only get a black screen, no video, no sound, and that for any game?
Do you see the power LED turn on ?

It's for every game and the LED does turn on. Won't work with any tv (tried older tv's) however I do have a capture card and 1 neat thing with the capture card is the software tells you if a signal is present and it's not registering a signal.

I do not think the problem is with the AV out or cable.

Likely it is related to dirty games/connector or the phenomenon I call ''The black screen of death'', which seems to strike more and more snes. They just no longer work.
Some are said to have been brought back by recapping but I can testify it does not always work.

surely a signal should still be present regardless of whether the game is being read or not?

Out of curiosity still do you know what the chip at U10 does? I will prob still replace the solder as it's a knock or 2 away from falling off. But would be nice to know what it does

U 10 is the CIC, without this chip working the console will stay in reset (so no video signal).
