snes ntsc/uc no power

hi ,

i do have an old snes which I got from someone a year ago and kept it under bed since then, it looked horrible, it doesn't power on, fues was dead, kept a jumper of thin wire for now, but diode D1 looks bad, could it be it? and whts its part number please.

I'd say that schottky diode is dead. I found D1 on the SNES power schematics on console5, but they don't have the part numbers for every component.

You could try a sot89 package schottky diode like this one

Better replace that fuse as well.

 

Thanks alot for the info, I will replace the fuse with a permanent solution once it work, but may I ask if the part suggested is sure to work? i.e. is it just for trial or it should work? thanks again.

 

I have never had this problem with a SNES myself, so I cannot be sure. The 100% sure way would be to remove on from another console.

I would install a proper fuse before attempting any more repairs. It can do some real damage if it’s not there and something else is wrong.
