Im looking to start making snes repros for myself I'm wondering what i need. EPROM burner Preferrily under 100$ and is there a guide on how to
Any of the ebay ones will work well , spend the $25 more and get one that can do pic and other chips.
http://www.mcumall.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4282 If you want to use 42 pin eproms, you will also need: http://www.mcumall.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4289 But I would just buy the programmer and buy adapters as you need them. I used to own this programmer, its good for the money (and your price range).
I got this one from ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Willem-5-0-EPROM-PIC-Programmer-27C256-27C512-E10-/190482303263 I could never get it to work though. maybe my set up, but i know a few other people on other sites who have used this programmer. Anyone on here got this one going and what was your set up?
I used the 4.5 version of that for some years. I had Windows XP machine with a real parallel port (usb converters do not work as I recall). The usb port on the programmer is for power ONLY, so you dont need a PSU plugged into it. It does not do data. The one I linked above is true USB and will work on modern machines fine.
Avoid those parallel port chip programmers. Not worth the headaches. Get something quality that is USB.
