Howsit? Bit of a "geeky" question. I have just completed my first SUPERCIC to a US SNES. It is a first revision board with the seperate sound module and had to "lock" the video encoder in for permament PAL frequency. The case for this one, it is fairly green, so I am going to try Retro-bright. Just need to grab a tray from somewhere (I am married and just can't grab any old thing lol!) Anyway onto the subject, I have a few more SNES's to do, 1 more US console (later single chip board), 2 PAL SNES's (haven't cracked these open yet so not sure on the board revision) and a Super Famicom (early revision with seperate sound board). Now the SFC arrived in a poor state, the case apart from being very green was packed poorly and the case was smashed. The top part (main part) was smashed, the fins on the back and a hole at the front. The front trim piece (says Super Famicom), the top trim piece and the cart flap are ok apart from the front trim piece being green. The bottom piece is smashed as well, the inside edge along the top that sits inside the top part of the case has been smashed off on one side and there are a few cracks at the front. It also feels very brittle. I have a few spare PAL SNES cases, using the top case is no worries as all the "Super Famicom" parts fit into the PAL case. Unfortunately on the bottom piece, the "Super Famicom" is molded into the plastic whereas on a PAL console it is a sticker. Would it be considered a sin to have Super Famicom up top, but SNES on the bottom?
lol the SNES I use (the ones listed above are for me to up and sell) is back to front to that. A painted up US SNES case with modified (switches) PAL board.
I've swapped very different pcb revisions of the sfc systems among their cases you just need to carefully remove certain bits of plastic.
