SNES solid black screen, changed caps...

I have this SNES very first model, SHVC-CPU-01

changed all caps still black screen, checked the cart connector, checked pretty much all I would suspect.

Any idea, suggestion?

 

Most likely bad CPU.

 

What the person above me said. If you heat up the CPU with a heat gun, it will start working again and will die again in a few days

 

I think that only works for BGA chips in modern consoles where the solder has failed and developed cracks, I maybe wrong. With the older IC, u can physically inspect each IC lead for contact with board. If the IC is dead then only replacing it will solve the issue. The first step would be to confirm that the IC are receiving clean voltages. Besides the caps, power regulators or transistors may have failed. I would rule these out before considering an IC transplant.

This frequently allows you to pinpoint the problem. Likely candidates are the 2 PPU chips and as mentioned, the most likely one is the CPU.
It's replaceable with hot air and some patience. Cheap yellow super famicoms off eBay (<$10) make excellent donors.
