Im having an issue with a snes asciipad turbo controller. The L button is always engaged, even when the board is sitting out of the case.

The weird part, is as soon as i put L into turbo mode, it disengages.

Any idea what the culprit could be? Theres not alot to this board, i reflowed the ic caps and resistors. There is no continuity between the two contacts on the L board.

The bottom left of the turbo switches is for the L button

add graphite to the connections on the board. It always fixes my non working graphite based controllers. A pencil does the job

What would that do? It's registering a connection without anything touching the board at all, as if there's voltage coming from somewhere there shouldn't be or the IC is bad.
