Hey all, i have a problem with my SNES... The video it outputs is way too dark...If i start the SNES, the Nintendo logo is normal but then it fades to dark and everything that comes later is also very dark... I tested 2 games and 2 video cables so far, no success...everything dark...so it has to be the console. Any suggestions what to do now?
idiots at nintendo choose to NOT make snes and n64 output in rgb natively... so they'll be blurry forever or until someone founds a mod or workaround for the problem.... anyway othe people here might know better. by the way the cable is ok is ninty that sucked at the time
I dunno about SCART cables, but Japanese Nintendo RGB cables contain resistors and, more importantly, capacitors which sometimes go bad and make the image too dark or too bright, etc. Try changing those components (or buy a new cable) first.
i found a cheaper solution, lol i connected the SNES via the Scart cable to my Videorecorder, which is connected to the TV, and viola: everything works fine but please, don't ask why
You need to amp the RGB, which the camcorder probably does. You need three small caps if I remember correctly.
It might be because you're now only getting composite video through the VCR - the colour won't be as good (washed-out lookin/grainy/blurry reds) if it is composite. It's definately composite if you're viewing it through your VCR, i.e. your TV is set to the VCRs output and the VCR is set on AV. VCRs should in theory be able to do RGB pass-through (i.e. when your VCR is on standby/off and you put your TV on the VCR's output it should take your SNES's RGB output), but in theory communism works...
