    Hey all,

First post here, I hope i`m posting in the right area. Anyways, I have an SNES that does plays games fine however the colors seem off:

Here`s some pics of what NHL 95 is supposed to look like:

HERE`S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE ON THIS MESSED UP SNES:

If you notice the first two images are actually blended together. and the white lettering of the disclaimer is a bright pink color.
So Far I`ve tried replacing the large capacitor on the mainboard for a known good working one, and i`ve tried swapping the 62pin connector also from a known good working one. Still giving the same results.

    Any suggestions...

Look damage around the video encoder chips, if it was a digital problem (ie the cartridge slot) I would expect the game to freeze or not even boot. If you have access to an RGB connection use that to test.

Are the video encoder chips the ones near the front of the board? I've looked very closely and can't find any obvious damage to the chips or board. THe game runs fine oddly enough.

I'm currently using the multi-out RGB video connection.

I'm gonna reflow the connections for the Multi-out and see what happens

On mine it is above the cartridge slot near a large electrolytic cap. BTW my board is an SHVC-CPU-01 with a BA6592F encoder. Your problem is unusual, a video issue like that usually comes with a catastrophic failure, I had a Turbografx that did this just on the games that it could still read before crashing.

Hmmm, Took a look at the IC. Mine is also a BA6592F from the same board model. It looks prefectly okay around it. Can I transplant that BA6592F chip from one SNES to another? or are they digitally married
