SNES works great but wont's display certain layers...

I had this customer who brought back an SNES I sold him, some RPGs wouldn't display text at all.

I retested it today and playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Turtles in Time, Krang doesn't show up in the background in level one, lasers pop out of nowhere where his eyes would normally be.

Anyone know where to look?

 

Gonna need to replace either cpu or a ppu, probably. Look for dogp's repair logs.

 

It could be a problem with one of the PPUs or a connection between them. Another possibility is a RAM problem. I agree with zzattack to try to find repair logs to see if anyone else has documented a similar problem.
