So Computer gaming is DA Bomb? Ok, I saw the Assembler thread about how PS4 will be a shitty computer and all the replies there. Let me say before anyone jumps to conclusion this isn't an reply thread. So, I was wondering, I got a nice notebook a few months ago with DX11, Nvidia 570m and all but I haven't actually used it for gaming so far. Maybe because of the insane amount of work and besides I'm getting married, my friends But what are the good PC games that are not FPS? I must be missing something. The huge graphic power of the nvidia boards were used for crysis and now are used for crysis 3. Call of duty and so on. Is there anything 2012/2013 worth playing and with good graphics that are not a FPS? RPG FPS like Skyrim don't count in.
Well if there's any strategy at all. Most of the time those "click here" games take me to Diablo that is all about clicking. And those games don't usually have gorgeous graphics. But what would you recommend? Fallout? Starcraft?
Yeah Tomb Raider would follow my line of thought. Sometimes I forget that Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Alan Wake and a few others get released on PC. But I don't think RE 6 got released neither the new DMC. I have a feeling that PC games have it's own category, like games that could only exist or are better on PC. Like Sim City. I know there are a few ports but still it's a computer game. Also the Need For Speed series still gets released on consoles but got forgotten on PC.
RE 6 is comming i think very soon, dont know about DMC i've never played any of them, they dont really float my boat. all depends on what you are interested in, for me its normally RTS games and FPS games, lesser so for 3rd person titles, and minimal-non existent for RPGs personally i just dont like turn based sytle rpgs far too slow going. and dispise world of warcraft yuk! anyway check out steam for example huge library, and the good thing about pc gaming is you are not limited by region locking, and you have a back catalogue going back to the early 90s (further if you want) also max payne series, 1 and 2 are dated now but perfectly playable, and 3 is new so all good there. RTS games i'd recommend: C&C - all Emperor - Battle for dune Civilisation series(not RTS but listing anyway) Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War 1 and 2 Company Of Heros Supreme Commander 1 and 2 i could go on but they would top the list you mention need for speed, there are need for speed titles released for pc and other racing games. Forza Horions has a PC release there's a huge selection of flight sims, space combat sims etc also check out some independant games like the ones come in the humble bundles
Supreme Commander 2 is good but the game isn't quite as good the original or Forged Alliance. At least you don't have to use Core Maximiser any more to make remotely playable. If you are not completely against FPS and enjoy puzzles Portal & Portal 2 are must haves. Portal 2 also has a coop campaign with new levels which are not featured in the single player mode. I also quite like tower defence games. IMO Orcs Must Die! & Orcs Must Die! 2 are must haves! Lastly Deus Ex Human Revolution is good too. It is only an FPS if you want it to be. I beat the entire game without killing anyone but the bosses on the hardest difficulty.
oops my fault some missinformation there, it should be released for PC but looks like its not, i really thought it was or at least in the works i remember specs and stuff floating about, not really a huge loss. also, The Hitman games should get a mention
The PC version of the new DmC is probably the best version. Hi-res textures+60fps (if your PC is up to it) make it awesome fun to play. Also, Skyrim with some visual enhancement mods (like ENB or RCRN) is pretty spectacular. Don't dismiss it just because it has first-person view.
PC gaming has devolved to pretty much MMOs and RTS. A lot of console games are on PC too, with a lot more focus on consoles now by a lot of developers...I do both but I mostly play console. Even with a new gaming PC i mostly use it to play free to play FPS titles llol
