I was and still am super tempted to pick one up but at $500 I settled on the RetroUSB AVS. I have one from the next round of preorders on tap. NES Collecting is somewhat affordable again since everyone is off making Sega consoles miserable to collect for. I thought the Analog NT was pointless and honestly since it was just NES parts shoved in a metal case it is. But the Mini being an FPGA with options out the ass and additional rom comparability does make it pretty attractive BUT it's $500. I'm curious as to if anybody here actually did spend the money on it. I want one but even with the Trust fund, it's still too rich for my blood. Hell most of the You Tube Reviews for the thing were provided by the company and not purchased with the You Tuber's own Money. So I'm not sure if anybody actually owns one. I've seen like ONE in a room of doom photo but that's it. So? Anybody have one?
I don't have one but I'd like to have one. I don't doubt it's probably one of the best options for playing NES and Famicom games. But since I got a RGB modded AV Famicom I've been in no hurry to get another expensive NES system. I do think it's better than the RetroUSB AVS due to analog RGB output being an option. Plus the added extra system cores. Playing SMS and others on it would be pretty cool. But like you said, it's expensive. And I think neither the AVS or NT Mini are really readily available. If you want either one there is going to be a significant wait time. At least the last time I looked neither was available to ship instantly.
The second wave of the AVS is supposed to be sometime this summer. I just bought a bunch of Famicom games, and I have a few NES games waiting in the wings. I just hope that factory gets it's ass in gear.
