So, how rare do you think the first DS model will be?

If there will be one item collectors will be looking for in the next run of gaming, this should be it. In terms of how many there are (Besides the number Nintendo may have already destroyed), here's a estimate of the numbers that are still out there:

-The ones that were at E3
-The ones used in advertisement
-All the models used for experementation and testing before they refinded it.

 

and prototypes they sent newspapers, magazines, etc

 

I'm pretty sure Nintendo makes them send 'em back. And then probably gets rid of them.

What exactly do you mean by first model? Proto?

 

The model that was showed at E3. The rounder, less polished model used to play the demos.
