So I have a game I got that has a little history behind it.

Everyone interested I just got a game from a new member here that has an interesting story. Maybe not as interesting as a rare game but still enough to catch your attention. Seems this game has been through many different hands. I was told I'm like the 15th owner of it. Here it is, Tekken Advance:

Now it does work despite how bad it looks. I know because I played it for like 5 minutes after I got it on my old DS LIte I keep around for updating my flash card for my 3DS. So here is what I have to ask: Would you members of this site care to keep the tradition this game has started up and keep passing it around until the cart is completely destroyed? I'll send it to whoever for nothing and they can send it onward in return and so on. I would like to use this thread to track this game through it's journey.

So, what-do-you-say? Care to be part of some weird little ritual?

^ Exactly. Only there's no scam going on here. Funny thing is my grandparents said the same thing...

People, the game and shipping for it is free, I just ask you send it off to someone else in turn and so on until the game is completely dead and to leave us a trail here. You don't have to play it or even like it. I for one hate the Tekken series of games. Not into martial arts. If it wasn't for the history of ownership I'd have already destroyed it.

EDIT: So I just played the game for the hell of it. Beat the arcade mode in under 6 minutes with no K.O.s. BBBBBOOOOORRRRRIIIIINNNNNGGGGG!!!!!

No offense, but I think you are confusing the word "history" with "past". Having 15 owners doesn't exactly give an object historical significance in itself. If 15 different people used a Kleenex, you wouldn't say it has a "history". You'd say, "Ewwwwww...."

^ Fine. "Past". Anyone care to carry it on? The label is clean. It's just scratched all to hell from many times of insertion and removal. Game was made 2001. "Patent Pending". As if by now...

Carts are PRETTY damn durable. Without it being on purpose this would never end.

Using the word "history" in this context seems fine unless you're a total pedant.

I wasn't really criticizing the language he used - it was a joke.

The idea itself isn't that bad, it just needs to be reworked a little. A game with a box and every owner scribbling something in its manual (name, date, etc.) would be better.

It would be cool if it was some short and easy game that can be completed in a short time - every owner would have to agree to send it to the next person once it's completed. As a bit of a proof, one could make the rule that the owner has to put his/her signature in the manual, along with date of receival and departure :)

But I think for this game, something else but Tekken Advance would be better. And it should be for a console that most people own, like PS1 or NES.

I wish I had gotten a box or manual but no cheese. As for it being short, I beat the arcade mode in under 6 minutes with no KOs. Too bad everyone's GBA has gone by the wayside. Good little system for its time...

Here's a plan, I include a sheet of paper with my signature on it and everyone signs it along with date game was received and date game left hands. They could also make a short YouTube video of playing it. After all, I beat it in under 6 minutes. Most rounds were under 18 seconds of fighting.

I agree with the whole idea as it sounds interesting but limiting to NES or PS1 has limited transfer potential as not everyone has a way of playing ntsc or pal releases maybe something newer which is not region locked would be the way to go.

You're right, actually I think a DS/GBA/GB game would be quite ideal.
