and I need to get some games for it. Saw my friends unit with the CD-ROM unit and played Y's and a couple other games and an hour later I got the system at our store. I know the CD unit is pretty expensive so I'd like to just stick to HuCard games for now. Primarily I love platformers and shooters, but I will play the occasional RPG. So what are some awesome ones you can reccommend. I already know I want a copy of R-type, but other than that I know little about the system.

Jackie Chan Kung Fu - I've been playing this today, its an awesome platformer, and probably my favourite game for the system so far.

Did you get an actual TG16 or a PCE? Cards are region locked, CDs are not. Plenty of games didn't get a TG16 release. The CD-ROM is really where it's at for games.

    Splatterhouse. Best of the trilogy.

I just got a TG-16. Someday I'd like to import a PCE, but I think I can find enough games on the TG-16 for now to tide me over.

The original Dungeon Explorer on the TG-16 is arguably the best Gauntlet clone ever, and exceeds the Sega CD and DS/PSP sequels in the fun department. I'm also very fond of the D&D game, Order of the Griffon, which has a nice clean combat system that hasn't been imitated enough. The Neutopia games were the best Zelda clones before Darksiders came out, and I still pull out the Express to play Military Madness for some tactical hex-based action when the mood hits me. And no Turbo collection is complete without Devil's Crush, which is arguably the best video pinball game ever (even better than anything that was on the Saturn.)

I personally have a PC Engine Core Grafx II with CD attachment, and Neoflash PC-E flash cart. I can play USA and Japanese. One day, I may get an SGX...

As far as games, I reccomend:

    Hu Card:

Splatterhouse (as good or better than arcade or MSX version)
    Bonk's Adventure
    Keith Courage
    Blazing Lasers
    Legendary Axe
Neutopia (zelda rip off, but still great)
    Neutopia II

    CD:

    Air Zonk (music is awesome)
Castlevania X Rondo of Blood (the precursor to Symphony of the Night)
Fighting Street (started the Street Fighter francise)
    Prince of Persia (awesome soundtrack)
