I've been planning about RJTAG'ing my phat 360 and I've been wondering on a couple things:

    1) I know you can have dual NANDs on a RJTAG'ed system, so I'm wondering is there any benefit to having a modded nand and a dev nand or should I just have the modded nand and stock nand?
    2) If I have a modded and stock nand, would I have to unplug the Ethernet cable when I use the modded nand?
    2) What are some good homebrew apps? (that aren't the usual emulators like NES/GEN/SNES/etc.)
    3) Is it possible to run the not-officially-supported Xbox games on a modded system? (this would be the only emulator I care about)
    4) If I have a RJTAG'ed 360, would I still have to format a new HDD for the 360 if I want to upgrade it, or can I throw in a normal NTFS or FAT32 formatted drive? (I thought I heard somewhere you don't have to format the drive with any special sauce, but I think that was for a normal JTAG.)

1)Don't know anything about the Dev NAND sorry :c I think your best bet is modded and stock so you can atleast use XBL on stock
    2) Nope. When you switch over to the modded NAND you can have it set up to not communicate with XBL
3)I don't really use any homebrew apps on my RGH, just FSD and Dashlaunch oh and fakeanim
4)You can use a USB HDD that uses NTFS (I believe) or FAT32 and throw all your homebrew/360/Xbox/XBLA games on it. You would have to make a special Xbox partition on it if you wanted to put DLC on the USB HDD. I just put all my DLC on my regular xbox HDD which you can upgrade if you want but you'll have to format it to the special xbox format and there may be restrictions on the type of HDD you can use. I know for the Slim 360 you can only upgrade the HDD with certain WD drives, don't remember if there's the same kind of deal with the phats HDD.

    1) Unless you are developing software or are into proto/debug games a dev kernal is not what you need, stock nand and hacked nand will be perfect for what you want.

    2) No just install dashlaunch and edit the .ini or use dashlaunch it's self to block microsofts connections.

    3) there aren't many homebrew apps on the 360 compared to the first xbox, just find a 360 homebrew/hack/mod news site for links.

    4) Yes there are hacked emulator files for the 360 that let you run old xbox homebrew and games that wont normally run! just google for "xbox 360 hacked emulator"

    5) With the hack you can use any size you want, but it does have to be formatted to exfat, external drives (usb) need to be fat32 in order for the 360 to read them (games, homebrew, other junk) also if you have a dual nand the original nand wont read the hdd if its unofficial so you would need a retail hdd for the original nand.

So say I have a official/retail HDD ( I think I still have my old 20GB HDD laying around) and I want to open it and swap it for a 2TB drive. Would I be able to partition it and have some formatted with the 360 format (I think 320GB was the limit) for the stock nand and the rest of the drive exfat for the hacked nand?

Think you have to setup the XBOX partition manually. I haven't tested mine to see but, the hacked NAND removes the 320GB limitation and formats it. This can be done through the NXE Dash.

I thought the stock NAND would only be able to recognise drives with a certain firmware / model number etc. I haven't tried doing that on a stock unit before but I remember back in the day everyone was hunting for specific models of WD drives.

I apologize for the questions, but there is so much 360 modding stuff I'm trying to rap my head around this.

    1) If I dual nand with the RJTAG, I think I will have a stock nand and Xecuter fusion. Since fusion has the dev kit properties and such, can fusion run debug/proto games?
    2) Can you use custom dashes with Fusion?

(And since fusion is a custom kernel, I assume it can still rip and play 360 games with discs in the tray, play homebrew apps, play all original Xbox games, use up to a 2 TB drive, etc. right?)

I thought it wouldn't mind since it can play multi-disc games both from the HDD just fine. In any case, if a game like GTA V require only 1 disc installed and the other in the tray, it's a small sacrifice.

    1) The Dev Nand is only useful if you are developing games, I personally use a Dev Nand and a Stock NAND, but it is all opinion,
    2) You should put a banned KV on the modded NAND, so if you do somehow get caught online, only the modded side will get banned with the retail untouched. There are many online-enabled homebrew apps that need internet, so keep the ethernet plugged in, just enable LIVEBLOCK in Dashlaunch.
2 (You wrote 2 twice lol) XM360, Flash360, Simple 360 Flash tool, FSD3, Dashlaunch (with the XBDM, XRPC, and JRPC plugins) I like the XNA game studio offline launcher.
    3) There are the hacked emulation files that you must install on your Hard Drive manually
    4) I recommend using Eaton's new FATX explorer to format the drive so you can have gamesaves and DLC on it.

Is there a particular reason? or is it just a matter of personal taste?

Fusion isnt being worked on, rgloader has it's own site for further development and support!

    1) Dev kernels for hacked consoles run some things but run out of ram sometimes running xbox watson and going to (Configure>On Exception>Continue) will make some things still work.

    2) yes again though but i highly suggest rgloader since its still has support
