It's not really getting much mention anywhere, but the elusive Socks the Cat for SNES starting shipping at the end of last month and slowly trickling its way into people's collections. There's finally a video that was put up so you can see the first level (skip to 3:52 for gameplay). Most guessed it was mediocre so we don't need to discuss that But anyway, that's one lost game down. Now let's find that Genesis version.
How DARE you put those two next to each other with only a slash separating them! Earthworm Jim is rolling in his proverbial grave! Seems a bit more like Awesome Possum. In all seriousness this does seem just like a generic mascot platformer. I do like the music but everything else seems run-of-the-mill.
It definitely gives a vibe that I associate with other low tier platformers on the system, such as Ahhhh! Real Monsters, Beavis and Butthead, or Chester Cheetah (another Kemco title).
A quick google search turns up the ROM. It's out there. Someone named "OLDSKOOL" dumped and released it into the wild. The game isn't an unreleased gem, but it's interesting to play.
