OK, I don't want to sound like a faggot but SquareEnix seems they know how to screw with their fans: they delay the 3D fan-made remake of Chrono Trigger, they never published outside Japan games like Sigma Harmonika and Nanashi no Game...and now we have the stuff about Dragon Quest VI release outside Japan.

Here is what they said back in 2007 and 2008:

    (copy-paste from Wikipedia)
And now? They don't know shit!

    Seriously now?

And while we're bitching about Square Enix, where the FUCK is Final Fantasy Five and Six for the DS?

Four was fucking awesome, and we want more.

And for fuck's sake, what the FUCK happened with Front Mission? :(

My thoughts exactly. Would love to play a 3D remake of em both. :) I really hope they will consider such games for 3DS...

Considering that DQ 9 only came out a few months, it doesn't really make sense to release another in the series already. I would expect it July 2011.

Maybe, but that doesn't seem to be applied to other popular francise like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. Besides, DQ9 was published in the west market by Nintendo of America and not SquareEnix. And in contrary to SquareEnix which doesn't promote DQ series in the west market, Nintendo of America did a great job with the promoting of DQ9 to the point that even the creator was satisfied with the very good sales of the game (expecially since DQ don't sell well outside Japan). And if it was for SquareEnix to publish DQ9 we would still waiting for it.

I still haven't finished DQ8... It was glorious and awesome, but graduate school got in the way, and when I got back to it I had no idea what to do next.

Still, I love that game, even if Koichi Sugiyama stole a Gloria Estefan song to make the overworld theme.

I have been asking my self this for a while... Why doesn't any of these new releases come to the PSP or PS3? Some of the greatest releases were on the ps1 and ps2, why not on these newer generation? I really want to play a good DQ on my PSP.

Because Playstation fans care more about Final Fantasy and Nintendo fans more about Dragon Quest. After all, most DQ were released for Nintendo consoles (from the main series only DQVII and DQVIII were released on Playstation). By the way for those who don't know Nintendo of America will release DQVI on 14 February 2011.

So the only DQ games you can enjoy on your PSP are DQVII, Torneko: The Last Hope (both of them released for PSX in America) and any other older DQ games on NES and SNES emulators (fan translated, of course).

"they delay the 3D fan-made remake of Chrono Trigger,"
I know this is old but what do you mean delay? They flat out told them to stop making it. I'd know since it was my former roommate and coworker who was making it.

Enix doesn't work like square. DQ will go to the market leader. It's why DQ9 was DS and DQ10 was announced for the wii. If ps3 was the market leader then it would have gotten 10 but it is not (nor is the psp).
