I picked up a bunch of nintendo power carts and I'm been taking them apart and playing with them. For those who don't know, Nintendo Power carts were official Super Famicom Flash carts that could be taken to stores in Japan and you could have games put on them.

What do we know about the protection on them? Do we know much about the MegaChips mx15001TFC that's on the board? Anyone ever try to use it as a flash cart? Do they dump normally? From what I know the megachips has the menu system on it. Is there writable memory on the megachips chip to know what games are in the flash memory or is that information in the flash memory or on the save chip? Is there any kind of compression? Has anyone ever tried to dump any of the flash chips directly? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

I'm sorry I tried searching for "nintendo power" and didn't find it--perhaps because I don't see a way to search for "nintendo power" and not nintendo or power. Could you direct me to this thread?

Edit: Nevermind I found it with a google search:

So it looks like we don't know too much.
