Soft modded Xbox v1.6

Stock HDD, LED mod to blue/purple/red from green/orange/red, soft modded with XBMC dash

What would be a fair asking price for this on here?


PS: My camera on my phone sucks. Its a little dusty and not in the best shape but it works fine

 

I wouldn't pay a penny more for a soft modded Xbox than a retail one. Less because the jewel is missing. Sure, if it had a bigger hard drive, it would be worth a bit more.

To give you an idea, a crystal Xbox with no leads and 10 games sold on eBay recently for £10.50. A working black one with all the cables and a third party controller, plus 15 games sold for £18.08.

I don't know what my friend's shop sells them for now. When I worked there six years ago, they were £29 unboxed with cables and one official controller.

I just noticed that this one failed to sell for £10!

 

Maybe it's worth $10 more than retail because you did the soft-mod.

 

...and then $10 less again because of the missing jewel and garish LED mod. Anyways I believe this isn't the best place to try and sell a 1.6, which for example can't get the RAM expansion.

 

Really, dont like the led mod? Its really not much brighter than original, my camera just sucks.

I am pretty sure I have another top half of the case packed away, I will have to look and see if its got the jewel and in good shape. If I do have another top with the jewel in good condition think it would be worth $35-40 shipped? Shipping would be $15-20 for this I imagine, so really would not be worth much for me to sell it less than that


Edit: Just went and looked, I did have another top. Its got an ugly ass green skull themed skin on it, but its in good shape with a good jewel.

 

Is it just the Xbox with no controller or cables? If so, I wouldn't say it's worth that much... although you might get lucky.

You'd probably be better off bundling it with a controller, cables, a few games and sticking it on Craigslist or you local Facebook selling group. You'll probably profit more as you don't have to worry about shipping.

 

I think I will just hold off a bit on selling it. Keep an eye out for a cheap used hdd, and a cheap controller if it's not worth $20 plus shipping as is.

Edit: right now it's just the console with composite cable and power cord. I have an extra controller, but no breakaway to go with it. Pretty sure I have some more controllers stashed somewhere, but haven't found them lately...

 

Others are right. Softmod is free originally. No profit should really be made, along with the fact that it's got a stock hard disk still. Also lack of the jewel will make it appear as a junk system.

 

I found another top half of the case and put it on it, so it has a jewel now. If its not worth $20 as is right now I will just keep an eye out for a cheap controller and cheap HDD and sell it as a bundle later.

Say it comes with one controller, 250gb IDE drive, power cable and video cable, and it has a jewel... What would the value be at then? Not looking for a huge profit, just enough to make it worth selling

 

It's not worth that much more than a stock console IMO, if it was softmodded with a larger hard drive, that might make it stand out.
