I have a soft modded 1.6 Xbox which was modded using Krayzie's ndure (Mech Assault Exploit). For some reason not too long ago certain games do not run from disc or hard drive. The system has a 750gb hard drive. I can not run Dead or Alive Ultimate or KOF Maximum Impact Maniax at all (black screen disc or patched on hdd). The two most recent Mortal Kombat games (Deception and Armageddon) black screen after pressing start at the title screen. I have tried these games from disc and it does the exact same thing. I have another unmodded xbox and they run from the disc just fine. A good deal of other games such as Dead or Alive 3, Soul Calibur 2 and Kakuto Chojin for example run just fine on this modded console. Any clue whats going on here? Anyone know how to fix this?
I had a similar issue once trying to play Burnout 3. I found that somehow one of my cache folders was corrupt, and clearing it out seemed to resolve the problem...Unfortunately I do not recall where that folder is.
If memory serves right, those are located on the X: Y: and Z: drives. Either ftp into your box and delete everything you find on those partitions, or use homebrew (boxplorer I think) for that. BUT before you have a go, someone else should verify the drive letters.
Deleted all cache data and still have the same problem, the only cache data that was there was from xbmc. Any other ideas? Edit: also tried deleting save data for select titles with no luck.
Sonic Riders, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Gun Valkyrie, House of the Dead 3, Crazy Taxi High Roller, Shenmue 2, and Sonic Heroes all work. Strangely enough Spikeout Battle Street freezes at the title screen when you press start, the only Sega game I own that wont work on this console. Its running a 750gb brand new oem apple ide drive. I couldn't see it being the hard drive if the select games wont even run from disc or when installed on the drive.
This can also happen due to the video cable. AUF will not work with 480p,720p and 1080i enabled. If games are freezing at certain points, it could be down to the hard disk itself.
Where exactly is that located? I only knew of Cache folders in X, Y and Z. Is it a specific folder on E? I have composite cables going to a standard 32inch tv, so no hdtv options are selected.
IT WORKED!!!! Thanks a lot man, you wont believe how long I have been trying to get this to work. At first it was DOA Ultimate, then Spikeout battlestreet and more recently the MK games. I will keep an eye on that folder if I have any problems in the future.
I have the same problem except my xbox is a v1.0 tsopped with the last executer bios. I don't have a cache folder and for some reason when I flash m8 + bios doa runs perfect.
