I'm in the process of softmodding a Wii, following the tutorial here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...backup-wii-gamecube-and-wiiware-games.360687/ However on Step 4 where you install USB Loader (USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder.wad), I get an error within Wad Manager 1.7 saying "ERROR! (ret = -1022)". A quick summary of what I've done so far: Installed Homebrew Channel Backed up the NAND Installed and Configured Priiloader Ran IOS236 Installer Ran CIOSX rev20b installer and firstly installed IOS version IOS236, base IOS version IOS56 V5661, and custom IOS installation slot IOS249. And then base version IOS38 V4123 and custom IOS installation slot 250 (as per the video tutorial). After this is says to go to WAD Manager, select IOS 249 and then run the USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder.wad, which is where I get the error. Help!
Try a different IOS like IOS36. Also try using MMM (Multi-Mod Manager) as that's what I use and haven't had any issues with it. Link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/j3v5gp1ph1izjm1/Multi-Mod-Manager_v13.4.zip I personally prefer the channel forwarders myself so I understand wanting to get it to work. Even if it's just a few seconds, if it's something you constantly load then it's very convenient.
I'm not too bothered about having a forwarder, I just want to get it working! The whole IOS thing confuses me. I'm just following the instructions in the tutorial and don't want to install the wrong thing in case it bricks the console. Can Wii's just have any IOS installed and run?
Got there in the end using a slightly different install and instructions. Everything seems to be working for now. Will have to play around and configure later. Thanks guys.
