So I think mid last year I found a thread on a forum called Vizzed about a lost game called Soldier. It is a third person shooter based off the movie of the same name, featuring music by Hitman 2 and Freedom Fighters composer Jesper Kyd. It was never released. The thread came about because somebody actually found a copy of the game that was distributed by a warez group called CLASS. I downloaded the files and for a while now they have been sitting on my hard drive. This week I gone ahead and recorded a short clip of it. This is the very first video clip ever of the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSZkTqcD-nQ Anyone interested in us advancing to the point where this game sees the light of day on here?
How finished does it seem to be? Also, reading from the wiki article "a group of orphaned infants are selected at birth and raised as highly disciplined soldiers with no understanding of anything but military routine". Sound familiar?
I posted a comment on your video, but I would like to see a download for this game to be honest. It looks rather interesting, whether it is finished or not.
In terms of finishedness, it looks like it only has one level, called "junk1", however the campaign.gut file is a whopping 125 MB, so it might not just have one level. I never got passed the first level, so I do not know for sure. There are two videos left in the rip, which are just used for the menus. And sadly, no Jesper Kyd since this is a rip release. EDIT: Well, here you go, http://www.mediafire.com/download/13y11vc89p6aj35/Soldier.rar Go crazy.
I had a look and all 15 levels are there and playable. I hacked the gamesave and found that there's a debug level after the final one, but it doesn't load.
Ahh, I love Final Fantasy VIII... The look of the game reminded me of C12: The Final Resistance. The game doesn't look half bad, although I could see it getting pretty repetitive.
