Greetings, I am wondering if there is any way to have Free HDBoot or Free McBoot work with HDD-OSD functionality. Specifically accessing the HDD from PS2 Browser whilst running from FHDB or FMCB? Thank you!
Nevermind, figured it out. Used this image to burn to my HDD using RawCopyTool in the download. Then, I installed this specific FMCB. I did not need to format my HDD, just after installing the image I used WinHiip to repair drive structure to ensure my data was not corrupted. Now I have FMCB running after I pulled the FreeHDBoot config from hdd0:/__sysconf/FMCB/FREEHDB.CNF and copied my settings from my FMCB configuration "mc0:/SYS-CONF/FREEMCB.CNF". Then, I deleted BADATA-EXEC folder from my Memory Card as well as the FMCB config from my Memory Card. Now, when I boot the PS2 the FHDBoot Menu works, and when I go to the Browser I can see my HDD! Hope this helps others in the future!
FHDB can be installed from the FMCB installer. So if you already had a way to launch homebrew software, you only needed the FMCB installer to install FHDB. FHDB can work with the HDD Browser. I made it to be compatible with the official Sony software. FMCB does not support the HDD unit, so it cannot do that.
If you had a way to run CDRs, you could have properly formatted your HDD with wLE, then installed HDD OSD from the disc, then FHDB from the FMCB installer. To avoid possible APA corruption with another HDD's partial raw image. The process is tedious but worth it.
Thank you for the advice guys! @kHn I'll remember that next time for I've had that issue once before! thank you!
