Mind you I'm incredibly cheap. I get things so cheap it's almost a crime. So it makes buying things hard as my point of view is sometimes skewed. There's a local arcade shutting down, I can get a 32 inch Virtual fighter dedicated for $300 and a Virtua Striker 2 with 50 inch monitor for $200. Mind you I have no room for them, so I'd be buying the vf3 for storage, and the virtua striker I would really only want for the monitor , and part out the rest. Worth getting the VF3? It's damn huge, doesn't convert to squat, and I'd need to rent a truck. Mind you traveling in NYC is as expensive as tokyo, so I'm looking at about $130 for the truck and fees.
Good prices, as long as they are in good condition. You mean the original VF3, not TB? Damn that was big!! You'd also need at least one other person. They got anything else?
Yes, buy both! If nothing else, to preserve the unique cabinets. Unsold cabs will usually end up junked.
I'd say go for it, man. VF is pretty cool, the cabinets are probably pretty nice, and that 50 inch monitor sounds like a very sweet deal. If you do have the spare cash, then it's a great chance. I always feel sad when I hear about arcades closing, though.
This response will be sensible. If you want the monitor from Virtua Striker 2, go for it. Like you said, you can just part the rest out and sell it. As for the Virtua Fighter, that is a good price, but storage is expensive. If you can't convert it, and you can't keep it in your home, theres not much point in having it. The only way I would say "go" for that one is if you thought you could resell it for more...either that...or if you could talk him down on the price a bit. Makes sense, right?
VF3 is not worth it. If it was Jamma then it would be worth it but being a model 3 system & the monitor being 24k (dout it suports 31k or 16k). The cab is worthless out side of vf3.
Holy crap, VF3 for $300?? If you can get pics of that thing, I might very well be interested in either buying it off you or picking it up myself. Hell, I don't even need pics, I just need you to vouch that the thing is in good condition. I've got a few friends in the NYC area, so this wouldn't be too hard to swing. Let me know. Virtua Striker I don't care about, but I could play VF3 forever and ever and ever and ever....
